What's New in xDir

[Fixed] An error with folder and file enumeration was fixed. xDir might omit folders and files from the result list if you specified a folder filter criteria and used the xdstList or xdstTree sorting.

[Fixed] On NT systems when working with files on NTFS volumes questions marks might be displayed instead of the characters from the non-default ANSI code pages in Windows (incompatibility with Unicode file names).

The Professional edition of xDir Library 2.0 is implemented as an ActiveX-exe server in contrast to the Standard edition of this library. This allows you to enumerate files and folders in a separate process. By default, xDir 2.0 Pro works in synchronous mode. To get the full advantage of the Professional edition and enumerate files simultaneously with the main thread of your application, set the AsyncMode property to True before you start an enumeration.

The Professional and Standard editions now use interfaces to send notifications when xDir founds a new item. This improves the performance of the component a lot, especially in the Pro version when communication between two processes is in effect.

xDir allows you to use different filter criteria (masks with wildcard characters, date and time of creation, last access and modification, attributes) when enumerating files and folders.
