The Creation History of iGrid.NET
Microsoft promises to support all COM components in the .NET Framework, but reality proves otherwise. Our iGrid ActiveX does not work properly in this environment while it does not use any extraordinary features (we use only standard VB6 features, Win32 API function calls and a couple of well-known COM interfaces). Due to this fact, and to get the most from the new development platform from Microsoft, we implemented the .NET native version of the grid.
Today iGrid for .NET implements practically all the main features of iGrid ActiveX, enhances upon it with new principal features (such as frozen areas, group box and automatic grouping) and is based entirely on the new .NET platform.
