It didn't seem anyone was interested in this before, so I made some screenshots to demonstrate my point. Hopefully this will get some others interested. Programs would normally only have a few icons in the title bar, but I wanted to show a wide variety of icons for this sample. Text could be used too, but I didn't have the time to add it.
This is what CaptionX looks like using 32-bit icons in XP. Looks great, right?

This is what it looks like in Windows 7. It basically doesn't work with Aero and disables Aero for just that window, making your app look unprofessional.

This is what I'm proposing as an example (using Photoshop), and what CaptionX
could become if enough people were interested.
Because the Aero's window area is a little larger, we might be able to use 24x24 icons (or even funky 64x24 icons), as you can see with the 2 icons on the far left.

I can see some useful GUI features with this new compatibility. It's a good place to add extra functionality that always shows up in the same place. Or this area could be used for some kind of overall status indication, such as whether the software is registered or not, all without cluttering up or having to change your interface.
Please post here if you'd be interested in such an update for CaptionX!
